An open letter to anonymous

I've been slammed, twice, in the past week by an anonymous poster who claimed I spend too much time on my blog complaining. I'm all for voicing opinions and open dialog but I'm taking a moment or two to share some thoughts about this little corner of cyberspace.

This blog is not required reading.

There is no prize for making it to the end of one of my posts.

My feelings are not hurt if you don't finish.

In fact, if you don't like what you're reading, I encourage you to stop.

Even better, don't start.

Please note - this is not a complaint against my complaining reader. These are just perhaps some potentially helpful hints.

Charles it right - excellent response. :-)

I know other bloggers who receive "advice" on how to blog and criticisms of what they choose to blog.

I don't get it. What compels people to write things like that? Do they think you'll suddenly do a V8 commercial head slap and say "oh you are so right... I've been blogging the wrong way all this time!". Very odd.

OTOH now that Charles has pointed you out, I'll have to add you to the feed reader.

Exactly! As if an unknown person suddenly sheds such profound light that will change everything.

Talk about ego.

Another anonymous infrequent reader writes:

But you DO spend too much time complaining. Although it does make for amusing reading, admittedly.

Terrifying that you would put out so much personal information at the expense of your children's privacy. For your sake I hope that people who know you in real life don't see this self-serving drivel. If you're shunned by others, this would be a good reason why! You are one scary chick. How you can bear to expose yourself this way is beyond comprehension and indicates your lack of common sense.

If there are meds for narcissism you might want to look into them.
